Background:

To enhance knowledge and build confidence in responding to Child sexual abuse and harmful sexual behaviour

Training Level: 2

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the 1 day course participants will :

  • Know how to recognise the signs and symptoms
  • Understand the nature and impact on children’s health and wellbeing
  • Be aware of developmental perspectives and the communication methods
  • Understand the barriers to disclosure
  • Be confident to report and refer cases in line with procedures
  • Be familiar with the child protection investigation process
  • Consider the role of meaningful relationships in increasing a child’s strengths and resilience
  • Have information on local services and resources that can support children and their families

Non-attendance Policy

Please note that there is a non-attendance policy currently in place. There will be a charge of £100.00 (£50.00 for half day courses) for non-attendance if cancellation does not occur 5 working days before the event or replaced by another representative from your agency. All charges recuperated will be directed back into the training budget. If you are employed outside of the London Borough of Newham, please provide the name and contact details for your finance team.
