Courses are free for attendees, however failure to attend once a place has been booked will incur a charge of £50 for half day course, £100 for full day course billed separately after the event. Cancellations must be received 48 hours prior to training session via email only to :

Background:

Building professional confidence in effectively addressing the exposure to extremism within context of safeguarding

Training Level: 3

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the 1 day training, participants will have:

  • Revisit understanding of the Prevent Duty and processes and pathways
  • Explore how exposure to extremism is a safeguarding matter and the different levels of emotional harm
  • Consider how to identify exposure to extremism
  • Awareness of how to gain effective engagement with children exposed to extremism and with their parents
  • Consider how to work with effectively to reduce risk and strengthen child’s resilience and parenting capacity to meet the emotional and other needs of a child exposed to extremism
  • Exploring range of solutions and interventions to reduce possibility or impact of exposure to extremism

All training handouts and PowerPoint presentation and relevant material used will be provided electronically
