FreeReflective Practice Sessions
Reflective Practice Sessions offer support to those who have attended the two day Complex Safeguarding – Exploitation Training.
The quality of relationships between professionals and children/young people experiencing high levels of risk is central to affecting change.
This requires the ability to mentalise the complex situations for children/young people and to ‘connect’ before ‘correct’. Reflective Practice Sessions recognise that ‘connection’ can come at a high emotional cost for practitioners.
Reflective Practice Sessions provide:
- A space in which practitioners can build their capacity to think and formulate an analysis by ‘zooming in’ and ‘zooming out’ with a practice and systemic lens.
- Containment for practitioners’ emotional responses to direct work.
- A means for practitioners to make use of their own experience and develop awareness of how their own Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and/or Social GGRRAAACCEEESSS (Gender, Geography, Race, Religion, Age, Ability, Appearance, Class, Culture, Ethnicity, Education, Employment, Sexuality, Sexual orientation or Spirituality) informs our practice.
