Introduction to Safeguarding

All staff employed within a multi-agency arena have an important role to play in safeguarding children and are often in key positions to identify and respond to concerns about abuse and neglect. This course is to enable all those who come into frequent contact with children and young people to develop awareness of, and the ability to act on, concerns about their welfare and safety.
Training Level: 1 Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the training, participants will be able to learn:
- What to do if they are concerned about the safety and welfare of a child
- Disclosure
- Their role and responsibility in relation to child protection
- Categories of abuse, signs, symptoms and referral processes
- Introduction to the legal framework
